RSVP for LASC’s annual retreat into the Sequoia forest for a weekend of camping and scotch.
This is a blast. We have found a semi-secret location: Mountain Home Demonstration Forest. This was one of John Muir’s favorite groves. Cut out of the national forest, this land is operated by the forestry service as a practice ground. Most people don’t know about it (don’t tell!) leaving it with a hundredth of the traffic the national park gets. Camp at Sequoia NP or Kings Canyon… sleep under a pine. Camp with us… sleep under a Sequoia, drink scotch, and experience the Bollinger Breakfast with hot Laphroaig cider.
There isn’t a defined cost. We split the minimal camping costs and share food, scotch and resources. We’ll have a site Thurs-Sunday and you may come and go as fits your schedule. The drive is approx. 4 hours.
